Introduction

The Australian Council of Deans of Science (ACDS) represents and advocates for University Science in Australia. It comprises the Deans (or equivalent) of all Australian universities that have a significant organisational investment in science, such as a Science Faculty, a College, or a major component of these.

Information on the ACDS can be found at https://www.acds.edu.au/, including our vision for Australian University Science, our strategic goals for the next three years, our priorities for the next 12 months, and many of our submissions relating to various higher education and other policy matters. Of particular note, our sector-leading ACDS Teaching and Learning Centre continues to be highly valued, as is our magazine, Australian University Science.

The ACDS is funded by member fees and has an approximate annual budget of $350,000. The budget is used to run events and conferences, communications, and small grant schemes, and to support a small team, comprising the Director of the Teaching and Learning Centre, Director of the Research Forum, a Finance Officer and an Information and Communications Officer.

The ACDS convenes an Annual General Meeting and Conference and runs a number of events throughout the year.
