As the graduate research landscape continues to evolve, the strength of our community lies in the willingness of members to share ideas, learn from one another and work collaboratively to enhance the HDR experience. Every month, we are reminded of the breadth of expertise, innovation and leadership that exists across the ACGR membership. Your work is making a meaningful difference, and we thank you for your ongoing engagement with ACGR.
This month we are pleased to share details of upcoming professional development opportunities, including our HDR Leadership Edge workshop and the 2026 ACGR Graduate Research Leadership Program, both designed to strengthen leadership capability across the graduate research community. We also invite you to save the date for ACGR National Meeting 2, which will be hosted by the University of Queensland in November—an important opportunity to reconnect with colleagues, exchange ideas and discuss the challenges and opportunities ahead for graduate research.
Alongside these events, we highlight several significant reports and resources that will be of interest to members. These include new research into industry placements in PhD training, the recently released National Competitive Grants Program Review Final Report, and a UKCGE report examining trends and institutional strategies for professional doctorates across the UK and Ireland. Looking further ahead, we are also pleased to share information about the inaugural Next Generation Research SuperVision Project (RSVP) Conference, to be held in York, UK, in 2027, which promises to foster international dialogue on research supervision and graduate education.
Supporting an inclusive and high-quality graduate research environment remains a key priority for ACGR. If you were unable to join our recent webinar on strengthening success for neurodivergent HDR candidates, we encourage you to access the recording and explore the accompanying Good Practice Guidelines for Inclusive Supervision. Together, these resources provide practical guidance to support more inclusive supervisory practices and contribute to positive outcomes for HDR candidates.
