Dr Sharon Saunders is an experienced senior leader with more than 20 years of international experience in the higher education sector, with HDR roles as Consultant, Director and Senior Manager at the University of Cambridge (UK), Griffith University (Australia) and University of the Sunshine Coast (Australia). In 2025, she received the Australian Council of Graduate Research (ACGR) Special Commendation for Excellence in Graduate Research Programs and Support.

Sharon is driven by a deep belief in the transformative power of education and works to influence and lead from this purpose. Her approach is grounded in the philosophy that leadership begins with awareness—of self, of context, of power, and of possibility.
