ACGR Update March 2026

Dear colleagues,

Welcome to the ACGR March Member Update. This month’s update brings together several significant initiatives that reflect our shared priorities in strengthening research culture, recognising achievement, and advancing meaningful engagement.

We are pleased to announce the launch of the revised Good Practice Guidelines for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Research. These guidelines represent an important step in supporting ethical, respectful, and culturally informed research practice, and we thank members and colleagues who contributed their expertise and guidance to this work.

Also opening this month are nominations for the 2026 ACGR Awards for Excellence, providing an opportunity to recognise outstanding leadership, innovation, and contribution across the graduate research sector. In addition, we are sharing the ACGR Industry Engagement Survey Report, which offers valuable insights into current practices, challenges, and emerging trends in industry-engaged HDR, and highlights opportunities to further strengthen collaboration and impact. Thank you to members for contributing to the survey, enabling the development of this sector wide snapshot of industry engagement practices.

Looking ahead, registrations are now open for the ACGR April National Meeting, and we are very much looking forward to welcoming members to Adelaide in April. The National Meeting provides a valuable forum to connect with colleagues, share perspectives, and engage in discussion on issues shaping the future of graduate research. We encourage members to register and participate, and we look forward to seeing many of you in person.

As always, thank you for your continued engagement with ACGR and for the important work you do in supporting HDR candidates and research communities.

Best regards,

Louise Sharpe, ACGR President
Tracy Sullivan, Executive Director
