It’s hard to believe we’ve reached the halfway point for 2025. Where has the time gone!
It is a busy period here at ACGR as we work to action initiatives stemming from our Hobart conversations back in April. We have working groups developing good practice guidelines to support neurodivergence in HDR, updating our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Research Education Guidelines and creating a researcher development framework. This is in addition to our regular suite of events and activities to support the sector. We look forward to bringing you updates on this work in the coming months and showcasing these resources at the November National Meeting.
Turning our attention to our regular suite of events, in this update we bring you advance notice of the dates and locations for our 2026 National Meetings to be held in Adelaide and Brisbane. In appreciation of the value that comes from making personal connections with colleagues, we’ll be transitioning to two in-person events next year. Make sure to mark these dates in your calendar and we look forward to seeing you all. A huge thank you to Flinders University and the University of Queensland for acting as our 2026 hosts.
Of particular note this month is the launch of the Australian Tertiary Education Commission (ATEC). ACGR looks forward to engaging with the Commission as it evolves to ensure that graduate research continues to thrive as a vital component of Australia’s innovation and knowledge economy.
We look forward to keeping you updated and involved in the work ahead.
Best regards,
Louise Sharpe, ACGR President
Tracy Sullivan, Executive Director
