As we approach the midpoint of 2025, the Australian Council of Graduate Research (ACGR) continues to reflect on recent achievements and look ahead to future initiatives. In this spirit we thank all those who have volunteered their time and expertise in response to our call for contributors to our current working groups. We look forward to sharing the results of this work later in the year.
In this month’s update we are pleased to share with you insights from Professor Charlotte Brownlow and Professor Inger Mewburn on their recent research on supporting neurodivergent HDR candidates. We also celebrate the contribution of Professor Denise Cuthert to both the ACGR and the graduate research community as she moves to retirement.
Turning our attention to actualising outputs of the discussions at the National Meeting in Hobart to develop a National Researcher Development Framework, update our Good Practice Guidelines for Supporting Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander Candidates, and develop new guidelines for supporting neurodivergent candidates we have a lot of work to do. We encourage members to stay engaged and stay tuned as we update you on our progress in the months ahead.
Best regards
Louise Sharpe, ACGR President
Tracy Sullivan, Executive Director
